REPRESENTING THE PERUVIAN GASTRONOMY
Owner and chef of the COSME Restaurant in Lima, Peru, his casual cuisine known as “comfort food” has made his restaurant one of the most popular in the city.
Peruvian chef James Berckemeyer began his training at Cordon Bleu Perú in 2001, doing his internship at the renowned restaurant Astrid and Gastón. In 2004 he continued his training with a Master’s degree in International Culinary Institute for Foreigners (ICIF) in Turin, Italy, and later worked in the restaurant Agli Amici, owner of two Michelin stars.
After working in Peru as chef of the restaurant Al Grano and corporate chef of Hotel Sonesta El Olivar, as well as chef advisor of Las Casitas del Colca (Orient Express 2010), he worked in Spain in the prestigious restaurants El Celler de Can Roca (Girona) and Arzak (San Sebastián), both with three Michelin stars.
On behalf of PROMPERU has represented Peru in various international events and was the chef in charge of the gala dinner of the Concert of Human Rights 2016.
